UCI’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering Signs an Agreement with Salman bin Abdulaziz University at the International Exhibition and Conference of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia

Apr. 26, 2013 – Professor Ahmed Eltawil, Director of the SAU Program at UCI’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering, signed a letter of intent to extend  the service agreement between the University of California, Irvine and Salman bin Abdulaziz University with Dr. Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Al Hammed, Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.  Expanding the initial SAU Program wherein students travel to UCI for a focused course in Engineering and English, the extension aims to continue the inaugural program while providing Faculty training for Salman bin Abdulaziz staff.

Signed at the International Exhibition and Conference of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia, the agreement was presided upon by Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammad Al Angari, the Minster of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammad Al Asimi, Rector of Salman bin Abdulaziz University. In addition to the student summer training, new opportunities for Faculty are expected to be presented including ABET accreditation workshops, curriculum reviews, individual short courses, online courses, and assistance with developing a graduate programs.
